STRATEGIC PLAN
VISION: Ludington Area AAUW will be a highly visible organization in the community of Ludington and recognized as the leading advocate for education and equity for women and girls with a strong commitment to public education.
Ludington Area AAUW has these recognized resources: membership participation, diverse programs, high community visibility and commitment to equity issues.
Ludington Area AAUW has recognized these challenges: Diversity in membership, time constraints of members, financial limitations, paperwork burden.
STRATEGIC GOALS
- Ludington Area AAUW will be the leading advocate for education and equity for women and girls in our community.
- Continue equity programming
- Continue networking with other groups
- Continue an emphasis on creating a “working relationship” with educational administrative groups
- Strengthen relationship between AAUW and West Shore Community College
- Ludington Area AAUW will have a growing and diverse membership with the constraints of the local population.
- Increase membership by a 5% net gain annually
- Actively recruit members of differing backgrounds
- Encourage members to “mentor” and guide new members
- Ludington Area AAUW will be highly visible in the community.
- Build a visibility component into each program
- Provide information on programs and positions to all media in the area
- Ludington Area AAUW will meet the needs of members
- Recognize time constraints of members
- Will seek to achieve strategic goals within the framework of our unique financial limitations
- Will study and employ strategies to reduce paperwork vis-a-vis the branch/state/national communications whenever possible
- Ludington Area AAUW will work to increase our contribution to AAUW Education Foundation and the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund without diminishing the value of our local scholarship awards.
- Through September Salad Supper activities
- Through the bi-annual Book Sale for scholarships for Women in Transition scholarships – Maskel/Reid Scholarship and Frances Schauer WSCC Scholarship and local scholarships to 4 year universities.
- Through annual Sugar Plum Auction for local operations and Named Grant Fellowships (EF)
